No other name in the world is synonymous with the adventure as Mt. Everest. As the tallest mountain in the world, it symbolizes the concept of the ultimate adventure. This route, away from the traditional route now crowded with thousands of trekkers a year, takes us into the gorgeous valley of Gokyo in the Everest region. A day hike from our high camp up to the peak (Gokyo Ri 5361m) provides one of the best panoramic mountain views of the world. In addition to Everest, there will be gorgeous view of several other 8,000m peaks, including Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and specially Cho Oyu, whose majestic form stands before us during nearly the entire trip up the Gokyo Valley.
At the beginning of the trip, we pass through Sherpa villages occasionally visiting their homes and sharing each other’s greetings. On the way back from Gokyo, we will make a side trip to Imja valley up to Dingboche or beyond. The final step of our journey takes us to the Tengboche monastery, one of the largest active monasteries outside Tibet and a must for any trekker. Overall, this trip combines everything that the Himalayas have to offer; Culture, tradition, dramatic vistas and the chance to sit on the doorstep of the highest place on earth
